Boots & Buyers

Yeehaw!!

We roped in some major contributions for the AWAIC Gala! Almost everyone was accounted for this evening which helped to spot the big spenders during the auction.

There were great items donated to the event where the proceeds went to benefit the Abused Women's Aid in Crisis Shelter. The room was decked out with hay bales, plaid and pretty sure I even spotted a fake bull. I got to play some fiddle tunes while guests checked in to the event and they had a live band play during dinner which added to the event!

Despite all the secret service (as it wasnt for Nicholas Cage like we found out later) the event was still a total blast!!

After the event was over, we all ran over to watch the crowning for the Miss Alaska Collegiate pageant take place. Several of our fellow pageant sisters placed and our very own Rori took the title!!! We were all so so happy for her as she will get to join us at lots of events now!

This has probably been the most creative and fun event so far!

Do The Locomotion

Choo choo!

I got to spend the day on the train, acting as the local celebrity for the Anchorage Port. It was a blast! I met lots of people, all local business owners or reps from larger corporations and one woman in particular-- Ms Joy, dressed in traditional Korean clothes-- became my surrogate chaperone.

We got to take pictures with the people on board, help them navigate to get their next passport stamp ((every car's theme was a different country)) and filled up on DELICIOUS cheesecake filled truffles provided by Sullivan's Restaurant --- absolutely to die for! they were also placed on a tray directly in front of where Ms Joy and I were standing to have our pictures taken.

After the beautiful and long ride down the inlet we just changed directions and headed home! The journey was accompanied by everyone on board doing several rounds of karaoke and the electric slide ... truly a sight to see!
